Yoga for Hope

On July 9, 2011 at 9 am yogis from around Seattle will join together to dedicate a 90 minute outdoor yoga practice to those fighting or the memory of those who have fought cancer.
The event is sponsored by City of Hope, an organization that raises funds to support innovative research and treatment for many life-threatening diseases.
City of Hope is recognized worldwide for its compassionate patient care, innovative science and translational research, which rapidly turns laboratory breakthroughs into promising new therapies. [source]
The 3rd annual Yoga for Hope event will take place under the Space Needle at the Seattle Center. Seattle yoga teachers, Dora Gyarmati, Jennifer Isaacson, Jenniferlyn Chiemingo and Cosetta Romani will come together to teach a 90 minute class with musical guest Steve Gold.
I attended the event last year and over 300 people came together to raise over $30,000 for City of Hope. It was a very inspirational event and I floated on a yoga high (you know that feeling after an intense, energetic class) all the rest of the day! Side note: it was a beautiful day and I ended up going kayaking afterward…NOT recommended after 108 chaturagas!!!
I am signed up again this year with some of my fellow yoga teacher trainee friends and I wanted to pass the word to any of my Seattle readers…SIGN UP!!!
