Lululemon Opportunity

June 3, 2011 § 9 Comments

I am very grateful for the opportunity to co-teach a class this Sunday, June 5, 2011 (9:30am) at Lululemon University Village in Seattle, Washington.

Let me just start by saying how much I LOVE the Lululemon community and culture. Their manifesto has frequently come up in my own life .

I do try to sweat once a day.

I understand that my outlook on life is a direct reflection of how much I like myself.

One of the biggest, boldest statements on their manifesto is “Do one thing a day that scares you.”

I don’t like being scurred. BUT I know that the only way to grow and achieve my dreams is to reach beyond my edge of comfort. I absolutely love that I can come back to this statement on one of my many Lulu shopping bags to remind myself of where I want to go and what I want from life.

So this Sunday, my dear friend and fellow teacher, Jill and I will be at the University Village location ready to teach and inspire whoever comes through those doors…assuming we actually have students since it’s the first sunny weekend in Seattle where temperatures are expected over 70 degrees! In any case, it will be a phenomenal experience and I look forward to it!

Omigawsh, how exciting! If Seattle were just a wee bit closer I would surely be there to cheer you on! I can’t wait to hear all about it. Good luck!

  • Hi Gina,
I’ve had your blog opened up on my computer since last night. Your blog name definitely caught my attention – I love it, and I love that your making your blog “you” and not trying to fit into any one “box”. It’s perfect, and I’d totally be at your Lululemon yoga class if I lived in Seattle! I have a feeling I could use some Gina yoga today. :)

How exciting! Good luck. I did a teacher training course over a year ago now…sadly, I don’t feel I made the most of my opportunity – work, family, stress, personal matters…you’d think yoga would have helped me through that right? :(

Oh well…who knows. Maybe I should get back to it one day…I always feel “not good enough”…I mean, I can’t do any hand or shoulder stands and still fall over in balance poses. I’m my hardest critic I know.

How about saying (outloud!) I AM going to get back to it today, and practice a couple sun salutations and savasana in your home:) I find that taking small steps rather than no steps really helps me. Ps…I can’t do a handstand without the wall either…it doesn’t mean anything, but it’s something to work toward;) I’ve heard many teachers say that once they’ve mastered all the poses, they miss that phase where they really got to measure their progress each week/month/year.
